Anyone have a Sonos and an Alexa speaker?

Can you get them to connect together and play music together? I can control the sonos via the Alexa but can't seem to get them to play the same song at the same time, if you see what I mean.

AIBU to think this is surely possible and I'm just being dim?

We use an aux cable between the two. Sure there is a better way.

Yes, we have various Echo dots and Sonos speakers (and now a Sonos sound Beam which is a sound bar with built in Alexa)

My husband synchs them via an app I think? Then he says "Alex's- play radio one (or whatever) to kitchen". You have to name all your speakers via the app I think?! Sorry not much help!

If the Sonos appears on your
Alexa app as a device, you can make them into a music group and they will play simultaneously.

I set up a group with them all in called "downstairs" but when I ask Alexa to play downstairs she says "I can't play music on the group yet"

SHE DOESN'T TELL ME WHY THOUGH

You need to enable sonos as a smart skill in the Alexa app. Then when you ask her to play something, you have to state the name of your sonos. Eg ‘Alexa play Christmas music on living room’

Yeah I c an do that, I can control my sonos with the Alexa but I can't get the Alexa to play music WITH the sonos.

There is a new sonos that does Alexa called the one voice.

I'm not sure that you can group Sonos players with echo devices in order to play the same thing across them all.

No I think you're right, annoying! Angry
