To ask for some name suggestions for a female golden Labrador?

We’ll be getting her in 2 weeks and are stuck for names. Thinking Winnie but not sure. We like the idea of a human name- think Spencer if she was a male.

We often walk our dog with yellow labs named Mavis, Lola, Luna and Roxy. Other yellow labs I've known - Sally, Mia, Frida, Jess, Betty.

Met a gorgeous yellow lab puppy the other day called "Porridge" Grin

My golden retriever is called this. It really is a beautiful name. I've also got a Ben!

It's funny to see some of the names that my late DH and I chose for a baby on those lists 😂

My DSis called her golden Labrador puppy Nala many years before, after the lioness in the Lion King. She was a gorgeous little thing and a lovely pet who had to be PTS aged 14 because she was arthritic and couldn't cope with their lively 2 year old boy and got aggressive.

She was a lovely pet, sadly missed, but she wasn't entirely a bitch. She was sold to my DSis as a bitch, but when she took her to be spayed, the vet found no womb but an undeveloped testicle.

So was she male or female? Well, she did pee like a bitch. Grin

Anyway, the name Nala was a great choice, I think!

Mine yellow lab is called Rosie as it's my favourite girl name and I only have sons. I should have called her Nora as I spend much of my time muttering (or screaming) Bloody Nora as she creates yet another chaotic crisis!!

If you call her Bella be aware that it seems to be the dog equivalent of Olivia at the moment.

If my DD could name our dog again she would have chosen Sylvia (or Sylvie if a two-syllable name is needed - I read somewhere that two-syllable names are best for dogs).
