Should I tell him he drank my mooncup water?

I have namechanged for this. I've been pondering whether to tell him?

This morning I sterilised my mooncup (hasn't been sterilised since last period) in boiling water in a mug. Used the tongs to get it out and took it upstairs but in rush of getting DCs out of the door for school forgot to get rid of the boiling water and put the mug in the dishwasher.

DH has recently taken to drinking hot water plain - he alternates it with coffee as he says it makes his breath better.

He drank the mooncup water and was finishing the mug as he left for work.

There's no point in telling him is there?

hazeyjane

You're barking up the wrong penis there Grin

itsbritney I honestly couldn't speak! I'd been sorting the kids, came back through and there he was finishing if off before going straight out to work. It threw me - hence the post! I pondered it alone for way too long this morning I lost all sense of perspective Blush

@Shepherdspieisminging

Are you high? She washed it; as said repeatedly. But washing it isn't enough. It's "clean" but not sterilized. It needs to be sterilized... that's what she was trying to do. I don't trust the microwave method, but plenty people do it that way rather than boiling it.

CiderBrains · 30/11/2018 17:10

Isn't period blood sterile anyway until it can be contaminated by sitting in a pad/tampon etc?

I imagine if your period blood came straight out of your body into something sterile then it's probably cleaner than a McDonald's touch pad ordering screen or shopping trolly!

itsbritneybiatches · 30/11/2018 17:11

@Shepherdspieisminging

She's not minging.

I've read a couple of your posts on a thread yesterday and it sounds like you have issues with bodily intimacy and such like. I can imagine something like this would really freak you out but no need to be mean to the op and calling her minging.

Eatmycheese · 30/11/2018 17:13

Let it lie. All you will do is make him throw up and judging by a thread on here this week you’d be the one cleaning his vomit up so just don’t tell him.
Now the horror of those McDonalds touch screens really did make me boak

AngeloMysterioso · 30/11/2018 17:14

🐂💩

mooncupbeverage · 30/11/2018 17:19

Angelo

It's true, unfortunately. But now that it's happened I will be a lot more careful in future so silver linings I guess - as opposed to womb linings (sorry couldn't help myself).

Really @Eliza9917 you're so horrified by bodily fluids that you wouldn't take your moo cup into the kitchen?

Bit weird, it's just a vagina...

MsSensibleWay · 30/11/2018 17:30

Regarding the tasting of your own period blood. I'm pretty sure there was something in The Female Eunuch about it. I can't remember the details but I do remember giving it a go aged 16 when I read it. Just tasted like blood. No big deal really.

MsSensibleWay · 30/11/2018 17:46

I found the quote from The Female Eunuch: "if you think you are emancipated, you might consider the idea of tasting your own menstrual blood – if it makes you sick, you've a long way to go, baby"

So, I think that means your DH is now a proper feminist!

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 30/11/2018 17:50

This is the sort of thread that's just asking to go on the DM 🤔

Chasingsquirrels · 30/11/2018 17:51

Actually mooncupbeverage I'd just tell myself that he would have emptied away the semi warm water and boiled the kettle and poured a new cup. So he didn't drink the mooncup water any way Wink

TheQueenSnortsAvocados · 30/11/2018 18:15

Mate, the hysteria (pun intended) on this thread is hilarious. I've been in the fence about moon cups, but if it means I get to use the phrase red bush tea I'm in!!

FWIW, I'm on team cba. I don't sterilize my fingers before having a wank, I'd sure as shit not be boiling moon cups in bleach in a special pan.

Ollivander84 · 30/11/2018 18:30

@TheQueenSnortsAvocados I'm with you. I wash it of course and it gets a soak in a mug, any mug because it's been washed and it's clean. And no different from a guy giving you oral when you're on your period

Avegemitesandwich · 30/11/2018 18:50

But washing it isn't enough. It's "clean" but not sterilized. It needs to be sterilized...

Why? Why does it need to be sterilised?

FruminousBandersnatch · 30/11/2018 18:58

LOLing at the hand wringing posters here. It's really not that bad.

In almost 10 years I have never sterilised my mooncup either!

Holstenlane · 30/11/2018 18:59

@Avegemitesandwich

Because washing it with water doesn't remove everything; it can stain it end up smelling a bit. And I don't think using soap to clean it is the best idea since it could cause irritation. So boiling it at the end of each cycle can keep it from getting a smell/build up or anything the water hadn't removed.

blackfadder · 30/11/2018 19:38

And no different from a guy giving you oral when you're on your period
Do ppl actually do that?!

Imareallifemonet · 30/11/2018 20:17

This has been picked up by the metro Hmm

Juniorandsenior · 30/11/2018 20:17

What an unbelievable story

hazeyjane · 30/11/2018 20:28

This has been picked up by the metro

Reheally....hopefully they'll pick up my story about Mister Snifter the curious schnauzer. It's fun
It's unlikely
It has a penis in it.
...Oh and completely made up

FissionChips · 30/11/2018 20:38

Link to the metro artical anyone? I’ve looked and can’t find it

WoldkirkosTheEvilBitch · 30/11/2018 20:47

15 years later it's stained but fine. Post menopause now before anyone dares to tell me anything about it being 'dirty'

Why would you keep a 15 year old stained mooncup now that you're postmenopausal? Are you planning to hand it down like some weird family heirloom?

LucieMorningstar · 30/11/2018 20:51
