Super happy, super easy, super super.

It's on tv, in shops everywhere you go.

Very or really seem to be disappearing super fast 😉

Another US import I suppose?

I'm getting super fucked off with America bashing idiots...

paintinmyhairAgain · 29/11/2018 13:54

a lot of expressions are american in origin they can be annoying but they are best ignored, life is too short.although i hate th expression 'can i get a i keep hoping the server will say 'sorry but i have to get that for you, that's my job'.
if you want to get your drink take a job in the cafe /bar instead ! Smile

paintinmyhairAgain · 29/11/2018 14:37

incidentlly 'super' was a popular expression in the '80's among the yuppies, so not necessarily american

RayRayBidet · 29/11/2018 15:45

I still say super duper, but I don't class that as being the same Grin

mimibunz · 29/11/2018 16:15

Seriously super tired of American bashing.

bridgetreilly · 29/11/2018 16:42

Definitely not an American important as anyone who remembers Jilly 'Sooper' Cooper will know.

greencatbluecat · 29/11/2018 17:02

Super U! It's only a word. (Lighthearted)

Copperbonnet · 29/11/2018 17:04

I live in the US, whenever I use the word “super” my friends think I’m terribly British.

Iliketosmile · 29/11/2018 17:12

I always thought it was a European thing as I 'caught' it off German/Fremch/Polish friends I knew at university. I still say it now, 20 yrs later Shock

SusanWalker · 29/11/2018 17:16

I do that but it comes from when I lived in Germany when everything was either super geil or super schlecht.

Language changes. New phrases come in and old ones go. That's why we now say super good and not topping or ripping like they did a hundred years ago.

DrFoxtrot · 29/11/2018 17:20

I don't like super either.

But even worse is when something is so so so annoying or very very very/ vvvv exciting.

One so or very is enough, any more and it instantly pisses me off. If it's in an OP that's the whole OP/ thread ruined for me
