About seeing ; instead of ' in words like don't and can't. Seems to be only on mumsnet, or is it something I don't know about

I do it lots. Rubbish typer trying to go fast and I normally wouldn't bother to correct.

i've always noticed it and it bothers me too! .....but then I use punctuation in texts too

Indiasmum, I always punctuate my texts, too. Much to the amusement of everyone.

i do it by mistake

for me it´s because I type on a spanish keyboard and often the symbols come out on the screen differently from they look on the screen when I´m typing them.

Oh I do it all the time; I'm sure it's to do with my Mac keyboard though as it never happened when I used PC.

Sorry if I've offended you, I do try to corrrect them but often miss them.

Hve to say I find the ubiquitous apostrophe and the incorrect usage of 'their' and 'there' far more irritating, and another thread entirely methinks.

I noticed this recently and think it was a tech issue? It was on nearly every post for about 5-6 posts, can't remember thread, but it was weird!
