AIBU in thinking there is nothing more annoying than that phrase being whimpered just as you've given up and done the thing you asked them to yourself?

Load of gear to go up to the attic and down today at the latest. DH has been meant to do it for the past week. I've just done it all and the as the last part came down I got a 'why didn't you ask me, I would have done it or helped?'. You didn't the all the fecking times you were meant to!!!

Yes I know bigger problems in the world and all but just say nothing instead of pretending!!!

And breathe......

Lol. I nicknamed dp 'just about to' as each time he genuinely forgot to do something. I'd crack on and do it. And he'd say oh yeah I was just about to do that.. Rather than say.. Oh I forgot or please remind me next time.
I'm an I patient person Tho so most of the to me I just do it when he's at work before he gets in..unless of course its something I can't do.

InfiniteSheldon · 25/11/2018 18:46

dh "I'll do it later"
Me "there's not enough laters in the whole fucking world"

JellieEllie · 25/11/2018 18:51

Worst for me is standing in the kitchen doing absolutely mountains of pots after a Sunday lunch, after I've asked my partner to do them numerous times. He can clearly hear me crashing about and chuntering to myself in the next room pissed off that I'm having to do them again.
He will then go to the whole display of getting up and the next time he goes into the kitchen doing a pretend surprised voice "oh you've done the pots babe I was just going to do them now". Thinks I'm stupid he does.

Prestonsflowers · 25/11/2018 18:52

My answer is
Why the fuck didn’t you do it then?
Just fucking do it then
If you can see it needs to be done then why don’t you just fucking get it done.

OutPinked · 25/11/2018 18:56

My DP’s nickname is ‘tomorrow’. His whole family do it so it’s easy enough to see where the habit came from whereas I was raised not to procrastinate and just get shit done. He always says he’ll do it tomorrow or at the weekend but it only gets done if I nag and nag which I hate doing.

He has pulled that line a few times when he’s seen me struggling to do a job I’ve asked him to do 500 times before, very frustrating.

My Mum used to call BIL gunner surname. She was very very fond of him, and he her, but the things he was "gunner" ( said with a Yorkshire accent) were legendary

For once I feel smug being single. Grin

GrumpySausage · 25/11/2018 19:20

This! My DH often says 'oh you should have asked me' when I'm swamped with housework/washing.

Why?! No one asks me to do it! I figure it out all for myself. Hmm

TheRoadLessRocky · 25/11/2018 19:23

Mine does 'do you want a hand with that?' when I've done 90% of the task. She pulls her weight reasonably well so I'm not complaining about doing whatever the task is, but ffs don't feign help when really you've just waited until I'm pegging the last sock on the hanger!

Crappygilmore · 25/11/2018 19:37

I call DH Manana man. Its always tomorrow. I also get the "I'll do the dishes" Then puts them into soak for 2 days before I get pissed off and do them. I would love him to just take the initiative and stop fannying around the jobs that need doing. Unfortunately ds is taking after him.

RuggerHug · 25/11/2018 19:57

He's trying to redeem himself now(possibly due to the heart attack I gave him when he thought I'd landed through the ceiling). Just reminded of the opposite problem in January when he took me saying 'I need you to do this tomorrow' as 'right now'. Loads of Christmas stuff lost in the attic because it wasn't labelled when it went up😖
