...to think he might fancy me?

So if a straight guy says in a round about way that he thinks a woman is beautiful, plus he says he really likes her and they get on like a house on fire, AIBU to think he might fancy me? Or do guys happily have platonic friendships with women they really like who they consider beautiful? Thanks.

Yes, I’d think he fancies me. But not necessarily that he wants it to go anywhere.

what thestoic said.

Be aware of emotionally unavailable men - there are a fair few about the place.

I'd be asking myself why he is saying all this "in a roundabout way", rather than simply asking me for a date.

I have a few platonic friendships where he thinks I’m good looking/I think he is.
We get on fantastically. Enjoy each other’s company. Really like each other. But there’s no actual chemistry.
