What can I do about this Ebay purchaser?

A month ago now I sold a large sideboard on ebay, I need it gone because we have renovations going on. On the advert I put 'must be collected by xxx' - giving 3 weeks to collect. It's now a week on from that date. A week after winning the auction I got paid by Paypal but the buyer doesn't respond to any of my messages to collect. I think they think that I'll sit here happy because I've got paid but that's not the point, I need the item shifting. I had to move it because it's in the way of our building works & now it's sitting in the centre of the lounge, half blocking the TV. I appreciate people need time to get organised but surely they could do that in a month? I can't raise a dispute as I've been paid so technically it doesn't belong to me any more but I'm acting like a bloody free warehouse. Any ideas?

Refund and put it on free cycle or dump it

hidinginthenightgarden · 23/11/2018 11:01

Message them and say they have 24 hours to respond or the item will be dumped outside!

You should refund as it's not a great idea to be paid by PayPal if the buyer is collecting.

AlmostAJillSandwich · 23/11/2018 11:02

All you can do is refund and cancel the transaction, you can't force contact and you can't keep item and money.

wowfudge · 23/11/2018 11:06

Refund because you shouldn't accept payment by PayPal for collection only items anyway. Just tell them they haven't collected in time. Block them (need to do that online, not in app) and relist or get rid of it by another means.

I would email them stating that they have a certain amount of time to collect the item. Tell them you're decorating and need to move the item and if a date for collection hasn't been arranged, you'll have to leave it outside or dump it.
They definitely should have got back in touch by now. Was there a phone number with their payment details at all? Sometimes there is....
