To think it's all over now I've broken a mirror

I'm not even that superstitious, but I believe in my own bad luck. I've had enough of it. I broke a full length mirror this morning. It was only a fiver but I'm shitting it now. I don't need another 1 month of bad luck never mind 7 years of it 😕

Ditto. Broke a big one about 6 weeks ago.

Mercury is currently in retrograde so I think breaking a mirror is the least of your worries.

SendintheArdwolves · 23/11/2018 12:53

Obviously, stuff like "bad luck from breaking a mirror" is nonsense, but if it's bugging you, then you avert the bad luck by using the mirror. This proves that it isn't broken iyswim.

So use it to put your mascara on, then stick it in the recycling. The bad luck will be dispelled, I assure you.

Doomsday, mate. You're fucked

JudasPrudy · 23/11/2018 12:55

Rub your ring finger around a black cats arse then rub it with lucky heather and you will be fine 🍀

Lilyhatesjaz · 23/11/2018 23:21

The reason it's 7 years bad luck is that in the past it would have cost a maid 7 years wages to replace a broken mirror. But as yours only cost £5 you should be OK.

RedLemonade · 23/11/2018 23:27

You didn’t break it. You just fashioned 53 (estimate) new mirrors in assorted sizes and varying degrees of injury risk. It’s all good.

Katedotness1963 · 23/11/2018 23:34

When I was about 9 I broke a mirror. I had it in my head it was 70 years bad luck. I stayed in my bedroom crying for ages. Oh! The relief when my mum told me it was only 7 years...

EricNorthmanIsMine · 23/11/2018 23:44

Smash a glass object to counteract the bad luck or alternatively do what I do and chuck a used glass jar (wine bottle!) into the recycling bin ... never fails to generate a good smash Smile and you get to drink wine
