A shameless traffic post but I have a black dress that I want to wear to a Christmas party. It's just a standard lbd pencil dress type with a little gather at the waist on one side. I'm not buying a new one cos I'm gonna lose a stone any day now but how the heck do i jazz it up so I don't look like Claire Underwoods understudy??

Neon seems to be popular so neon shoes and bag maybe. Or a metallic colour shoes bag...I'm liking bronze just now

Jewellery is the quickest way. Either a chunky necklace in bold colours like mustard and black or more delicate silver/diamante long necklace. If that's not you try a glittery brooch - there are loads around this time of year - and showstopper earrings like chandelier or tassells. Just don't do statement necklace and earrings together. If you don't like jewellery go for a colour pop shoe in something like fuschia pink or cobalt blue. Lots of shoe boots around as well - I love animal print of any kind, with great tights. Have fun.
