A really fancy baby gym

Not necessarily fancy, per se, but I've just had my PFB and wondered where I could find some really cool or interestingly designed baby toys asides from the ones in the usual places like mothercare etc. Any interesting brands I should look at?

I'm mostly curious as I'm too tight to shell out and I'll probably end up getting something second hand off gumtree, but I can dream!

No idea, but on the cheapo side of things for when you start to realise you're spending an awful lot and not earning as much as you used to, bright starts does some good infant toys. They've got a motorised baby swing with adjustable seat and speed for £55 on amazon.

DD was given the safari one from Mothercare as a present. I fully expect her to campaign to change the law so she can marry the lion.

What you and your baby think are cool won't necessarily be the same. Wink All the babies I know love bright colours, and boldly drawn black and white faces.

This baby gym has been invaluable for us. Babies love it. I’ve since noticed that a lot of friends/family have the same one. On offer in Smyths toys at the minute.

Also, there’s nothing wrong with buying it off gumtree. You can wash the mat In the washing machine.
I bought DS a Fisher-Price jumperoo recently off gumtree. It retails at £100-125 and I got it for £40. Just washed the cloth seat in the washing machine and washed the unit down. It is like new.

I really like the ikea wooden one

AveAtqueVale · 20/11/2018 08:43

Have a look at Babipur - they stock some
really lovely open-ended baby toys.

Also Kidly are good, and I personally quite like this gym though don’t know if I could bring myself to pay that much!

MiriAmmerman · 20/11/2018 08:55

We had the IKEA Leka. DS (now nearly 8mo) still enjoys looking at it during nappy changes.

justmetwice · 20/11/2018 09:08

I found my baby liked change so I just bought them second hand from the local baby Facebook selling site, then a few weeks later sold them on for same price I bought and bought something new. Some things he really liked we kept

pandarific · 20/11/2018 09:11

@sabrinathethirtysomethingwitch oh I agree re: gumtree! Half my house is from there - I especially like finding 'naice' or expensive things second hand - like my treasured Roomba, which I paid under 100 quid for total. Love it!
