AIBU to say that teens are often quite lazy?

Having a discussion currently about what teens like doing. DD is 14, coming up to 15. She works hard at school, and does homework. House stuff is another matter, and she needs to be told to do anything to help. She did have a part time job during the summer, but gave it up when she went back to school.

Her spare time is spent shut up in her room, practicing make up, talking to friends, playing on the internet. Weekends are spent at friends, doing the same or going to town for a look round the shops. Parties are generally sleepovers/ house parties, and seem to happen once or twice a month.

If you have a teen a similar age, say 13-16, are they similar? We're speaking about holidays, and DD sounds as if she is considering turning down a trip to the USA next year, as she's fed up with 'doing' holidays, and wants to lay and do nothing but the odd waterpark for a week.

I think teens are generally lazy. My other half thinks that DD is unusual, and most teens will be out walking the streets at this time on a Friday with friends. What are yours doing?

My DD is very similar. I think it's normal. She works very hard and she needs downtime. They do. She doesn't do much to help around the house but did surprise me by offering to and actually cleaning up some hot chocolate and a broken mug i dropped - as i needed to pop to the shops to buy some thing for dinner urgently. Maybe as she was keen to have the dinner but I was pleased.
Holidays- she still likes family holidays, she'd be crazy not to.Hope that continues.

She sounds very normal to me! I'd definitely prefer her not walking the streets at night to be honest!

My girl will be 15 in a couple of weeks. Tonight she's been alternating facetiming her friends, farting about with makeup and watching Children in Need in the living room (At her request). She certainly wouldn't be out walking the streets. And yes, they're Lazy AF most of the time with the odd bit of sweetness thrown in.
