Her latest book is called ‘Mummy Time’, just seen it in Waterstones. Plot: mummy and toddler go to park for ‘mummy time’. Mummy spends the whole time gossiping about her mates, while ignored toddler has an adventure all of his own.

I think you’re way over thinking it. In Mog and baby Mrs Thomas is away with the fairies while the baby she’s looking after eats out of the cat’s food bowl, then climbs out the window and into the road!

Helicopter parenting does not allow for good adventures!
