Never heard of Christmas cards

Being sent this early! One of my acquaintances has obviously got a bit carried away with the Christmas sprit this year...

It has brought to my attention to thinking, when is the right time? I am very organised so I buy my cards end of Nov when everything starts hitting the shops, and then am never sure when to send... quick poll please MN?

I no longer send them for environmental and cost reasons, so er never.

However, I used to send them on 1st December as I like them to arrive in good time. I will give family cards made by my lads when I see them.

I buy mine in the January sales, write them the first week of December and send them(second class post) around the 15th. Local ones I deliver from about the 20th.

Ah OP, you cheated me out of a very entertaining thread full of people wondering how you'd never heard of Christmas cards at all before! Grin

Yeah I think now is very early to send them - mid to late December is a good arrival time imo.

spanishwife · 15/11/2018 17:05

Haha Raven I was being just a tad sneaky there in order to get some responses to what is possibly, the most boring topic of all time.

Although Raven - my Spanish husband and his family are aware that people send Christmas cards, but had never really 'seen' one before I came into the picture, in that they never bought them or received them.

I have a friend whose card always drops through the door in Dec 1st.

I find it unreasonably annoying. Grin

Mid Dec is when most cards arrive.

I bought mine last Saturday because our local library always hosts a combined Charity Christmas card sale throughout November.

I usually write them and send them first week in December so that is another job to cross off the list.

Maybe your friend knows she will have a lot on in December so has decided to get ahead where she can

Ah no I know, there are certainly people in the world who won't have heard of them. I wouldve been very entertained by all the people confused by it on thread!
