I tried to buy the yule log flavour one from M&S but sadly the two closest to me didn't have it in stock. I really liked the mince pie flavour one they have. I also tried Baileys orange truffle flavour but found the orange was too over powering.

What are your favourite brands / flavours?

I used to be a big baileys fan but now I only buy the Aldi version. Delish.

HildaZelda · 15/11/2018 18:40

Just read mine back. Sweetness? Erm, I meant sweeteners. Thank you predictive text!

OhNoes · 15/11/2018 18:48

I only like Baileys. I've tried the Lidl and Aldi versions, but they taste a bit banana-ish to me. I might give the Baileys Chocolat Luxe a try.

GoldenCurls · 15/11/2018 18:54

Another vote for Coole Swan, if you can stretch to it.

Everyone I have introduced to it loves it.

Paddybare · 15/11/2018 18:55

The hotel chocolat one is gorgeous but very pricey.

Oldraver · 15/11/2018 18:56

I tried the Cool Swan in JL and it is lovely...I'd forgotten about it so can now put it on my list.

I also think Bailesy overly sweet and like the Aldi version. My favourite is cream liquer is Amarula.

I had been lusting after Merlyn (Penderyn cream liquer) for ages as thought it would be nice quality but was very disappointed

KatsutheClockworkOctopus · 15/11/2018 19:04

I was going to ask about the Hotel Chocolat one Paddybare - I'm quite tempted but was worried I'd be disappointed...

JulieBindelAteMyHomework · 15/11/2018 19:08

For those that are dairy intolerant Besos de Oro is a devine drink and they do a chocolate flavour too. Everyone I've given it has liked it and I don't even bother telling it's vegan 😱

PoesyCherish · 16/11/2018 09:04

That's a shame about the Merlyn one @Oldraver I was tempted to try that one but it's quite expensive (in a similar region to Baileys)

Thanks for the recommendation @JulieBindelAteMyHomework. Just the name sounds amazing! Off to Google now.

PoesyCherish · 16/11/2018 14:20

For those who've said Aldi, do you prefer the standard version or the more expensive one?

Tesco finest salted caramel cream liqueur is delicious.

YellowStickies · 16/11/2018 14:27

To the previous poster who mentioned dairy free baileys... M&S did a few dairy free flavours last year but sold out quickly! Hopefully see them again this year.

Imnotswallowingthat · 16/11/2018 14:29

Sheridan's is delightful

PoesyCherish · 16/11/2018 14:32

@FloofyDoof I had that one a couple of years ago. It was gorgeous! I'm avoiding it this year as DP doesn't like salted caramel Hmm so I'm making do with putting standard liqueur in salted caramel hot chocolate.

Asda's Irish cream is almost identical to the Aldi and Lidl ones. I can't tell the difference anyway. Annoyingly I fancied some this week but they've sold out. A bottle doesn't last long so I refuse to die s much on one.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 16/11/2018 20:57

I have the opposite experience with the Penderyn Merlyn to Oldraver as I really like it! Not a fan of Baileys as too sickly sweet for me but Merlyn goes down a treat Grin

AbsentmindedWoman · 16/11/2018 21:11

I really fancy a cream liqueur this year.

Are both Aldi and Lidl good? I find Bailey's too sweet.

AbsentmindedWoman · 16/11/2018 21:12

Sorry I know both are mentioned, but for example is the fancy Aldi one a cut above, or are they all fairly similar?

PerverseConverse · 16/11/2018 21:36

I didn't think the Aldi posh one was any different to the regular one.

Oblomov18 · 16/11/2018 21:38

I used to live Baileys but it's bike now: thin and watery.

Aldi? You say?

TomPinch · 16/11/2018 21:38

When I lived in the UK I used to buy something called Columba Cream. Kicked the shit out of Baileys: much smoother.

PoesyCherish · 16/11/2018 22:12

@AbsentmindedWoman I bought the cheap Aldi one today. Can't comment on the posh one but the cheap one is really good. Well worth the £3.75. I noticed they also have a gift set of 3 smaller bottles for £10 - It's the cheaper brand but in Salted Caramel, Mint and Orange flavours. Might give that a go if they have it in my local one next time.

Glad I'm not the only one that can't seem to make them last long @PerverseConverse

Merlyn is gorgeous. Made with decent whisky.

PoesyCherish · 16/11/2018 22:21

Is it really worth £15+ though compared to Aldi's £3.75 @YouTheCat
