Dog poo bags!

FortyFeet · 15/11/2018 13:00

Someone has left some tied up dog poo just outside the house, slightly more towards the neighbours side than mine but still.

I guess I need to pick this up somehow and put it in the nearest dog poo bin.

How do they work is there like a foot pedal or do you need to touch the bin itself?

Don’t want to get this wrong in case dog poo goes all over me.

AIBU but ughhhhhh

Pick it up and just chuck it in your bin. Alternatively the dog poo bin works like any other bin. Lift the lid pop the bag in drop the lid

naicepineapple · 15/11/2018 13:13

You could just wash your hands afterwards

Medea13 · 15/11/2018 13:13

You can put dog poo in any public bin.

Biancadelriosback · 15/11/2018 13:14

....what?

Strugglingtodomybest · 15/11/2018 13:15

Step1: Pick up bag (with or without gloves on)
Step2: Walk to bin
Step 3: Place bag in any convenient bin

Ghanagirl · 15/11/2018 13:15

Gosh how disgusting isn’t the point to take your poochs poo home or put it in bin not leave on the floor?

HCHQ · 15/11/2018 13:16

Oh I hate this. Peasants.

I live in the sticks and the number of people who leave bags of shit on fences, gates etc. It is worse as not picking up after the dog in my mind, at least un-bagged poo has a chance of degrading.

Or why not "stick & flick"? Saw this on a notice board in a country park once - thought it made sense, at least the mess is cleared from the path. Obviously not for hard pavements/suburban areas - then it's bag it every time.

Angry

Anyway to answer your dilemma I'd re-re-bag & stick it in your (outside) bin rather than traipse looking for a dog do bin. Unpleasant I know.

ParoxetineQueen · 15/11/2018 13:16

Hand inside a plastic bag of your own and pick it up, just in case the bag has split. I’m afraid you will have to open the bin with your hands but it’s unlikely you will come into contact with poo. You can use an ordinary litter bin if that is nearer or easier. Thank you

BiscuitDrama · 15/11/2018 13:18

Don’t move it yet, they may pick it up on their way back.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 15/11/2018 13:19

Pick the bag up and put it in any bin, like you would do any other rubbish. Most of mine go in my wheelie bin as I rarely pass a bin on a walk so bring them home. My old neighbours had 5 large breed dogs. That's a lot of poo. She used to take her poo collection from the garden for a walk to the local poo bin to deposit it there 😂

RatherBeRiding · 15/11/2018 13:20

Unless its been there ages it might be someone who has left it on the outward journey to be picked up on the return journey. I do this a lot on a particular walk, as do other dog walkers.

Otherwise you end up carrying bags of poo there and back again rather than just for the final leg to the poo bin.

Snappymcsnappy · 15/11/2018 14:17

ratherberiding and others like her are the reason dogs get banned from places and the reason so many non dog loving individuals hate dog owners.
Revolting and lazy behaviour.

I regularly have a bag of shit in my hand or pocket, dogs shit, you pick it up and you put it in the bin!
Even if that means carrying it on the bulk of your walk.

You don’t just dump it to pick it up later Hmm
If everyone did that the streets would be littered with bag after bag of dog mess.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 15/11/2018 14:20

At least it's in a bag. We've had some scruffy sod let their dog poo right outside our house for months now. I've been getting up to sit and watch at all different times but not caught them yet Angry

cowfacemonkey · 15/11/2018 14:20

I have a dog I wouldn't dream of leaving a bag of shit somewhere whilst I finished my dog walk. I do inwardly sigh if dog takes a dump at the start of a walk and I know we won't be passing a bin but that's life. Carry it with you. Minger!!

vampirethriller · 15/11/2018 14:25

Someone leaves bags of poo hanging from the bushes in the park near me. Like poo baubles. Why they think that's a good idea is beyond me.

recklessruby · 15/11/2018 14:32

Happened to us but they used our already full up wheelie bin and an open bag (I live in a nice area of the city centre that regularly gets vomitted on at weekends).
Advice from council is secure your bin and turn towards house. They said to tape it shut as people like this are lazy and want an easy access.
You could put rubber gloves on or use one of the long grabber things if you have one and put it in bin.

Mc180768 · 15/11/2018 14:39

Just pick the bag up in another one and put it in a bin. Then wash your hands.

I.always cart my poo bags around with me until I see a bin. I carry hand sanitizer. I see people leaving poo bags dotted on our path. Drives me mad but I have picked them up and dropped them in the bin.

Pick it up OP, it won't bite. Honest.

RatherBeRiding · 15/11/2018 17:26

Its in a bag ffs. I pick it up on my way back ffs. You're not going to catch the fucking black plague from it. Get over yourselves.

Jeez I would never pick up a poo bag. Why would I? Sometimes i find them in our bin. Drives me nuts. Just look after your own poo dog owners!

Ontheboardwalk · 15/11/2018 21:50

I’ve seen my neighbours scraping poo out of their garden into the free (well we all end up paying for them) caddy bags, then putting it in their food recycling bin Envy not envy

Wolfiefan · 15/11/2018 21:54

I really don’t understand why people think it’s ok to leave little shit packets all over the place to pick up later. It’s grim.
Get a Dicky Bag. Problem solved.
