I resigned from a really shit job a few weeks ago. No notice to work as was in probation period, I told them in the email that the training plan was non-existent, issues with no 121s with manager and a few other things.

I've got to take my equipment back before Friday and am absolutely bricking it at seeing someone from the department! I know I sound like a total wuss... I suffer with anxiety especially around people and the thought of walking into reception is petrifying me.

AIBU to want to run away and hide until they forget I have it? Or just get a courier to drop it off? I'm in a right state at the thought of doing this!

You’re not being unreasonable! I suffer from
social anxiety and completely understand how you’re feeling! But one thing that is important to remember is that as soon as you return the equipment, you get to walk out with your head held high and onto much better things!

Is there a reception desk you can drop off at and just tell them to pass it on to your old manager?

Send a friend/partner in. Just think, once it's done then you're totally free of the place and can just shake off any related anxiety from the whole situation.

Yes it's to be dropped at the reception desk. I've just convinced myself that someone will choose that exact 10 minute a lot to go to the canteen or out for a smoke break etc. I could ask my husband to do it I suppose but that would mean he will know how pathetic I'm being about it...
