To want to cry (hurt my toe)

Posting here for traffic but just stubbed my toe (the one next to the big toe) so hard it bent in a funny direction and went a bit numb. It righted itself but it really hurts so I’ve strapped it to the big toe and taken some paracetamol.

I don’t think I’ve broken it but it did start to swell slightly.

I’m just feeling sorry for myself as I’ve felt dizzy all day today and now this happens when I want to go to bed.

Am I right in thinking there’s not much more I can do for it at the moment?

Yeah.... that's about it, OP. I have nearly cried doing the same thing.

Maybe some ice and elevate your foot for a while?

Ouch toes hurt so badly don’t they? I stubbed mine the other day and shattered the whole nail, it was agony.

Sounds like you’ve got the right idea: rest, ice, compression and elevation, plus lots of ibuprofen to help with the swelling. Then Dr on Friday if it’s still really tender. Feel better soon.

You could have a spiral fracture, this happened to my friend and she had a full foot cast on for 3 weeks. My dh also did this but didn't bother going to get it checked, he was in pain with it for over 6 months. I d have it xrayed if I were you.

Ouch! That sounds awful! If its any consolation I've burned my pinky finger on my hair straighteners and with breaks with work I've been sitting with it in ice cold water... it still hurts and was 6 hours ago

I broke my big toe in half a month ago. I threw up immediately because of the pain I don’t know how people feel barking a leg! Keep it strapped to the next one and keep it up (above your heart) for as much as possible over the next day or so. Wear comfy shoes!
