...to be fed up of being the 'free' AFTERSCHOOL CLUB?

I have 3 boys - and today i lost it when 8 friends were here- ALL BOYS... so thats 11 boys in my home- 10 of them under 11.

so.....what made me lose it?

its their expectation of a drink...a snack...squabbling over using the trampoline...expecting me to keep stopping what i'm doing to calm them down when they get cross...which when there's 11 of them..happens too ofeten for my liking.

so i lost my temper and told them all to go home!

2 of mine went out with them...meaning 10 children left my house to grace themselves on another house.

this happens most days...and its got to the point where i am starting to feel used by the parents. (ie they need to pop out- so send their kids to play....)

9maybe their parents all watched panorama last night..have removed the TV's from their homes...and sent them to me to be entertained!)

i was a real cow TBH...i told them i was not a cafe- and if they were thirsty they could have water.

Do these kids inflict themselves on you or did their parents ask you to mind them?

I'd throw them out and lock the doors .

Good for you. I don't mind if I invite the children round, but if they just turn up on their own account they'd be getting pretty short shrift, I can tell you.

Never feed or water stray kids! It's a mistake I tell you!

IncredibleShrinkingMum · 19/06/2007 17:39

YANBU. I would be highly annoyed as well. The idea that they just send their children to you if they need to pop out is obnoxious! You do have your own life an responsibilities, they should realize that.

Ladymuck · 19/06/2007 17:41

Err, it is your home - you decide you gets invited surely? 11 boys sounds like a party. Each boy having a friend over sounds fine.

One of those occasions where actually having homework is a bonus I guess!

My rule also is ds can have 1 friend. Sometimes I feel mean, but I'd feel even worse if 8 kids piled round.

You say it happens all too often. So start saying 'no'.
