To think no one is going to hire me?

Currently job hunting, and ideally looking for a salary around £21k. I've applied for a few things and spoken to a few recruiters and they've all said the same thing - my notice period is too long.

I have a 3 month period as I've been at my current job over a year. I am in a low position, which means I am looking for similar jobs. Other jobs don't want to wait around for someone months, unless they're being recruited for a high professional position.

Is it unreasonable to ask an employer to wait this long? And leaving my job before the notice period is up is not an option, as they would definitely take legal action.

That's a very long notice period for a low ranking position, is there any flexibility in that? Would it be too much of a negative impact to just give a month and say sorry but I'm going, I've got a new job and they can't wait, would it have longer term implications in your field?

Sorry just saw the last bit, is it a very specialist field?

Mercurial123 · 11/11/2018 16:04

Can't you hand your notice in and temp for a few months that way you can start a new job within a week or two?

It's not hugely specialist, no

I'm not sure how easy it is to find temp jobs
