Aibu to have bought these but then consider selling them? I'm no tout!!

I have four seats at Wembley. Is it unrealistic to sell them on for +50%?

boohooyo · 11/11/2018 07:06

Touting is horrible.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 11/11/2018 07:06

If you want to sell them can't you use something like Twickets? They're expensive enough as it is.

MiniCooperLover · 11/11/2018 07:06

You might struggle unfortunately as a lot of places now insist on the person who bought the ticket being present with ID.

MiniCooperLover · 11/11/2018 07:07

And BTW selling them on for 50% is exactly the definition of a tout!

SaturdaySauv · 11/11/2018 07:08

If you bought them for the purpose of selling them on for a profit and denying four people the chance of buying them at face value initially YABU and behaving fairly shittily.

OliviaStabler · 11/11/2018 07:09

I'm no tout!!

Clearly you are if you buy tickets then want to sell them on for a profit. That's what touts do!

Blanchedupetitpois · 11/11/2018 07:10

What do you think this is if not touting...?

onemorequestion · 11/11/2018 07:10

I meant I've never touted before.

Thank you

usernamenamename · 11/11/2018 07:10

I hate it when people do this 🤦🏻‍♀️

whyarentiskinnyet · 11/11/2018 07:14

That's a selfish and horrible thing to have done if you had no intention of going. Others who want to go didn't get tickets because you did that. If you changed your mind then fine but +50% is disgusting, re sell them at face value

onemorequestion · 11/11/2018 07:16

Yes I have simply changed my mind. Will resell at face value.

OP posts:
Footle · 11/11/2018 07:18

Reported. Why should MN do your advertising?

IStillMissBlockbuster · 11/11/2018 07:21

I think it's a horrible, shitty thing to do.

RedBlu · 11/11/2018 07:23

I had them in my basket and then changed my mind as when I added up the cost of tickets, travel, hotel it just wasn't worth it.

So I left and gave someone else the change to buy them. If you don't want them, sell them at what you paid so you don't lose any money and someone else can get them for the price they would have paid anyway.

onemorequestion · 11/11/2018 07:23

I'm not going to!!

Have decided to pass them on face value.

Thank you for your replies.

guzzlepuzzle · 11/11/2018 08:39

YABU it's wholly unfair , Moreso because some people actually wanted tickets and would have struggled to afford them in the first place and now can't because people like you got them but only with the purpose of making a profit!! I hope the spice girls put Something in place to stop this happening like needing ID from the ticket buyer .

onemorequestion · 11/11/2018 08:41

I bought them with the intention of going but it's a Thursday and therefore too late for my kids who have school the next day. We have decided as a family not to go so will give them to a family who can go.

OP posts:
GreatDuckCookery6211 · 11/11/2018 08:43

You bought them knowing your dc have school the next day but now have decided it's too late? 🤔

WorldParty · 11/11/2018 09:35

Will they really sell out?
They were crap at their best

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 11/11/2018 09:45

No issue with anyone selling them on, I did did the same with Eagles tickets, the problem is hiking the prices. I sold mine for slightly above face value to cover the Stubhub fees.

pilates · 11/11/2018 09:53

Not sure how much you paid for them, but would anyone want to pay an additional 50% for a bunch of has-beens who couldn’t sing in the first place? May be, perhaps it’s nostalgia.

boohooyo · 11/11/2018 10:12

Do school age kids really want to see the spice girls? Hmm

starzig · 11/11/2018 10:17

Don't be a greedy bitch. +50% is awful. Some venues do returns, they would be more appropriate. If you must sell privately it should be face value plus postage. (and no, not £100 postage)

onemorequestion · 11/11/2018 11:59

I've sold them for face value plus £2 delivery.

OP posts:
Glumglowworm · 11/11/2018 12:06

YABU

You had all the information to decide whether to go before you bought them. And chose to buy. Now you’ve decided you’d rather sell and make a profit. That’s greedy and selfish and absolutely should be banned.

I understand that sometimes people’s circumstances change between buying tickets and the gig, but that’s not what’s happened here.

Quite rightly, gigs are cracking down on selfish dicks doing stuff like this, so chances are you’ll have trouble selling them and if you do sell them, the poor bugger who buys them probably won’t be able to use them anyway. Which makes you twice as bad.
