Anxious people-pleaser. How to cope with difficult people/situations at work?

I'm having a bit of a hard time at work at the moment and have some difficult meetings with difficult people lined up in the next couple of weeks. Basically, I'm being portrayed as incompetent for political reasons and in order to delay a project I'm working on.

I'm a the world's biggest people pleaser, I find it really hard to stand up for myself and I suffer with anxiety, which I'm not currently medicated for as I'm pregnant.

Anyone have any techniques that really worked for them, or know any good self-help books I could try?

Preparation! Get your story, idea, action plan, analysis written up and circulate before or during the meeting (if it’s appropriate). Work out the outcome you want to see and some ideas of how to make it happen. Practice saying some of your key point out loud before the meeting so you don’t stumble over words. I always feel far more confident with a good amount of prep for difficult situations.
