How to address this with my boss?

I’m currently working for someone in a different country/culture and there’s a clear communication difference. He speaks our common language incredibly well but this is a new piece of work I am doing and although he encourages me to ask questions, he
(A) seems frustrated when I ask him questions
(B) doesn’t explain exactly what he wants - he sends me emails about things which he doesn’t talk through when I’m focusing on sth else (we are sat in same room) - then he doesn’t explain what he it wants and gets frustrated when it isn’t done (as we haven’t discussed it!!);
(C) gets frustrated in a small room with lots of senior people in it, directed at me, which I find humiliating.

To this end I don’t think I’m learning as much as I can or performing to my best ability.

How can I bring this up with my day to day boss who’s leading the project?
