A school friends birthday happens to fall on the same day as a friends wedding.
When I said I wouldn’t be able to come home for her birthday (highlands of Scotland!) as I was at a wedding she just replied
“But you’ve known me longer than her.”
I thought she was joking but she’s genuinely fuming.
It’s not a landmark birthday and she had nothing major planned, just a walk and a few drinks... versus a wedding?!
