To turn off the WiFi?

Short version :

DH is a massively dramatic hyperchondriac

DH is also well known for being and antisocial iPhone game junkie

Kids have been total PITAs this evening and DH has shut himself in the bathroom with his phone, claiming illness and thus avoiding the hell that is bedtime. I've asked if there's anything I can do to help him and been told no.

Part of me is concerned for his welfare, the other part thinks he's pulling a fast one for some peace and quiet.

AIBU to turn off the WiFi? Thinking that if he's being cheeky it'll soon flush him out (excuse the pun!)?

If he's ill, he won't need WiFi- so definitely run it off. He has moans, he's well enough to wrangle kids into bed.

turn not run. DYAC!!!

Hubblebubbletripletrouble · 05/11/2018 20:26

Definitely turn it off! Feign ignorance when he comes out asking about the WiFi though!!

TheRoadLessRocky · 05/11/2018 20:31

Turn it off! Update us too - I'm nosy and want to know if he's faking or not! Grin

YANBU. Do it.

stopitandtidyupp · 05/11/2018 20:43

Does he have data on his phone?

LockedOutOfMN · 05/11/2018 20:45

YANBU, do it. You could let the kids watch a film if they claim boredom.

Nunyabusiness · 05/11/2018 21:01

Update : I turned it off, he came downstairs after five minutes...

He's taken himself off to bed without dinner as he says he feels awful.

Scenario 1
He's telling the truth and I'm a total cowbag

Option 2
He's gone to bed for more computer time and he's a cheeky waster

I swear, if he paid me half the attention he does his phone, I'd be on here meaning that he was smothering me!!

*moaning, not meaning!!

Hmm, rather coincidental that he came down after the WiFi went off!

Tbh even if he is genuinely ill this time I wouldn't give him much sympathy, given how he spends so much time on his phone anyway.
