To tell anyone worrying about LLETZ...

It’s not so bad.

In fact for me, the worst part was opening the speculum, because I was so tense.

The LLETZ treatment was for CIN2- and aside from a slight pressure/pinch when the first anaesthetic went in - I felt nothing.

I appreciate for survivors of abuse, and for women with traumatic medical histories, for women with phobias- or just reservations about treatment- this kind of thing can be a horrifying prospect. This isn’t intended to trigger or shame anyone declining treatment.

But for women looking for reassurance before this procedure - it’s really not worse than regular colposcopy / biopsy. You’ll be grand Smile

I found the same thing OP. The sound of the procedure seemed much more scary than how it actually went.

That said, everyone is different and I’m sure some people have / would find it worse, but for me it was definitely uncomfortable rather than painful
