Close friend of mine has announced her engagement this morning. All well and good, but she's been dating this guy for less than 3 months, and he's about to head off to Australia to work for a year. While he is away, she is planning to arrange the wedding for the year after he gets back. They've never lived together, just seen each other at weekends! It seems bonkers to me for her to be booking wedding venue/cars/buying dress etc when their relationship is so new, and she will hardly see him for the next 12 months.
