With their Christmas Ad.....unless they have paid significant royalties to coke!

Haven’t seen it yet

HolyMountain · 03/11/2018 21:43

I love Kevin Grin

#savekevin.

TheDayMyButtWentPsycho · 03/11/2018 21:49

I thought that.

I genuinely thought it was a coke advert.

Omg it's just come on as I type!

magoria · 03/11/2018 22:11

Same here. Was like wow that is a bit of a rip off.

Love it though.

TurkeyBear · 03/11/2018 22:14

#savekevin the Aldi ads are getting better every year.

John Lewis better be good after last years crap one too, and the guilt trip oap one Hmm

SaveKevin · 03/11/2018 22:15

It’s brilliant. I don’t know how they get away with half their brand stuff anyway so it just seems fitting to have a knock off ad as well

and a great idea for a name change

Cheeeeislifenow · 03/11/2018 22:21

I love the way their hunky dory's are called okey dokey's.. and their penguin bars are called seal bars! Grin

tillytrotter21 · 03/11/2018 22:38

Slightly off topic but is anyone actually influenced in their Christmas spending by these very expensive adverts? We've been hearing all year how stores like John Lewis, Debenhams and M and S are struggling yet they produce these adverts for about a 2 month period.

TheDayMyButtWentPsycho · 03/11/2018 22:42

I mean, I really want some coke now. But I don't mind which shop I get it from.

So yes, and no.

WhyAmISoCold · 03/11/2018 22:44

Thought the same. It's blatantly obvious it's meant to look like the coke truck.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 03/11/2018 22:45

Surely it's a win for coke too... the ad makes you think of their Christmas advert and their product but they didn't have to pay to make it or pay for airtime.

WontonSoupForTheSoul · 03/11/2018 22:47

I’m wondering if it’s some kind of Coke/Kevin crossover, based on these tweets?

Well, they’ll also be paying royalties to Banksy too 🤷🏼‍♀️

mumsastudent · 03/11/2018 22:52

Ah no wonder the Keven the carrot crashed he was on coke! :)

Valanice1989 · 03/11/2018 22:53

John Lewis better be good after last years crap one too, and the guilt trip oap one

How was the OAP one a guilt trip? I just thought it was weird. How the fuck did he end up on the moon?

mumsastudent · 03/11/2018 22:54

sorry (did I mention I am dyslexic - I am actually!) Kevin

KevinTheCarrot · 03/11/2018 22:54

What?

Valanice1989 · 03/11/2018 22:56

I suppose the advert is good publicity for the Coca Cola company as well, because people see it and think of their product.

Valanice1989 · 03/11/2018 22:57

^ And now I see DrMadelineMaxwell already pointed that out before me [embarrassed]

Notquiteagandt · 03/11/2018 23:07

Kevin driving a truck full of carrots to slaughter seems sadistic 1😂

Tbf though got everyone talking about aldi and coke. So win win. Job done for both parties.

Witchesbritches · 03/11/2018 23:19

Christmas Ad? Seriously? It’s barely November.

princesstiasmum · 03/11/2018 23:19

Just reading this thread and the Aldi ad has just come on, never really took much notice of it before

HelenaDove · 03/11/2018 23:32

I think Aldi have played a blinder keeping these carrot characters in their Christmas ad each year.

John Lewis missed a trick by not doing this with the Mr and Mrs Snowman characters from a few years back.

HelenaDove · 03/11/2018 23:34

i spotted the ad last night.
