Feel really ill. Been to the doc's and i have tonsilitis. Would love a day off to sleep on the sofa but have dd5mths and ds3yrs. No one around to have them and dh at work. Bathroom fitters have all the doors open and drilling. Got to get ds7yrs from school later. End of rant , sorry i'm feeling very sorry for myself!!! Any ideas on keeping 3yrs quiet?? Wish i was a man!!!

poor you, sep!
could you be norty and just stick them in front of tv? not something i would ususally suggest, but under these circumstances...

colditz · 18/06/2007 11:15

Cbeebies website
Paint (computer)
Cartoon network
get a sheet out and let her make a den

I remember the days... back when it was all fields around here and I could be properly SICK - stay in bed all day with rubbish magazines and drink lucozade (just because it was always given to me as a kid when I was little). No, you're not being unreasonable, just unrealistic, and this is one of those days when you need feel no guilt if your 3 year old watched Cbeebies or the like all day long. Also - if you were a man it wouldn't be a mere trifle like tonsillitis , it would be a real MAN COLD and then you'd know true suffering.

i feel like crap and need dp not to use his holiday atm

tv has been on since about 10. This is UNHEARD of in this house but tbh i have no alternative. they keep wandering off to play anyway.

i am on here summoning up the energy to go shopping so we can eat

Oh sep - poor you
CBeebies - good
Chocolate (for you) - good (warm so it goes down easily!)

awww sep , I know how you feel, its doing thr rounds here ,dd2 had it 2 weeks ago and is ill again now , so Ive been up all night, dh's come home and get into bed if ill, we just have to solider on. Colditz ideas are good , my dd 3.9yrs LOVES doing tents with blankets! She gets dollys and cushions and has a lay down with books too. Have you got easy food? Ive also got a console for her with an art programme and she can draw and colour with it on tv screen , its by Vtech for the Vsmile box.
