Medication errors?

I'm posting here for traffic.

Does anyone know if it's likely or possible for there to be some sort of manufacturing error during the production of prescription medication, such that the medication then contains something different to what it's meant to?

I've googled and there's plenty of examples of errors at pharmacy level but all I can find about actual production errors is that dreadful recent baby food case.

How are you feeling today, worried ?

Hi, thanks for thinking of me! Still having a reaction so I'll get in touch with my consultant on Monday and speak to him, he's best placed to advise I think.

Although probably not relevant to you, people with a penicillin allergy can also be sensitive to another group of antibiotics called cephalosporins.

Do you have any antihistamines? Take some. They will help with the reaction.

I'm severely allergic to penicillin, and was given the cross over antibiotics for a dental abscess and they made me really ill.

Drink plenty of water to flush your body, and try to get hold of your consultant ASAP.

Allergy to penicillin is quite serious if given the wrong antibiotics, if you start to feel worse seek medical advice today, ie 111.

I've got some hydramine stuff that I bought as a sleep aid ages ago, I suppose that may help.

I'm not sure it's an allergy though, I have no rashes, swelling or difficulty breathing. I don't know what the hell has gone on quite frankly hence the paranoia about wrong medication. But hopefully my consultant will be able to speak with me tomorrow.
