AIBU?

Registering children once married

Not 'AIBU' but posting for more traffic .

My partner and I are not married but have 2 children. However, one of them is sadly no longer with us. We are due to get married and will re register our children once we do. Obviously we had to register our child's birth and death but do can we still re register them once we are married, even though they're not here? Would we re register their death as well?

Sorry if it's a silly question but I'd feel a little bereft re registering our living child and not the one that isn't here if the rules are different?

Thanks

Actually I think I was wrong so sorry. It’s only if the were living at the time of the marriage.

I believe the reason for re registering after marriage is to ensure your children inherit correctly if you die and there are subsequent children involved. I'm so sorry for your loss but I don't believe it will effect anything not re registering your child you lost.
