To wonder if our children’s future will be terrible?

All these articles I’m reading about the planet being in the process of dying, wildlife being wiped out on a massive scale — and a future of extreme weather, famine, mass migration and wars! And most people have their heads in the sand.

And nobody will respond to this thread as its boring or too overwhleming to think about - but we’re talking about the planet dying!
What else matters?

I feel a bit alone as if I try to talk to anyone in real life its like I’m bringing the mood down (which is true!)

It is totally overwhelming but we can all do our bit and try to make it better. Also to teach our children to respect the planet

I'm with you, it's scary and depressing. I'm child-free, and I think if feel even more worried about it if I had children.

There just doesn't seem to be the political will to address it in the timeframe required.

Too many humans is the reason, but unless people in place like Africa and India stop having so many children the future of the planet is not good. Also people in all countries are getting fatter and more unhealthy, scientists are finding micro plastics in humans bodies, I could go on ...

No children, even 30 years ago I did not think that the future looked good.

I totally agree and it genuinely makes me depressed.
