To ask for some serious help with 18m old

Please help!!

So I've got myself into a huge mess of bringing my 18m ds into my bed every night for the past week. He now won't even go for his day time nap in his cot, screams and thrashes himself around whilst pointing at my bedroom. He's never been a great sleeper so I think I've just fell into the easier option of settling him because I'm so bloody tired after the last 18 months.

Does sharimg a bed bother you?

There is no right or wrong here, it's all about what works for you as a family.

If you are happy sharing a bed then carry on sharing a bed. I had one DC who was an awful sleeper when he was a baby and the only way any of us could get some sleep was to let him into our bed where he would fall asleep almost instantly and we would all have an uninterrupted night.

If you're not happy sharing a bed then don't let him into your bed but you'll need to spend a few days/nights being strict about not letting him in and this will unfortunately involve some unsettled behaviour.

Well ds in our bed means oh is on the sofa as ds practically pushes him out of the bed. It wasn't so bad when he would still nap during the day on his own but now it's affected that I would really like to nip it in the bud. He will go down in his cot ok initially with a 20 min or so fight.. Then will wake without fail 12-1am screaming blue murder and will not stop until he's in my arms in my bed.
