Snapchat filters! Since when has it become the norm to have fuckin ears and a black nose and alien eyes , scrolling through social media and so many have pictures of themselves up with a cutesy Snapchat filter, like this is normal now. No longer a one off oh look at this cute filter picture, actual serious pictures of themselves looking like a rabbit. Pisses me off. Grumpy rant over.

My granddaughter did this to a picture of me and her. I looked better with the daft ears and stuff than I do usually. Grin

Fatasfook · 30/10/2018 09:26

So you look better as a cartoon rabbit? 😂 I agree it makes people look cuter but it’s not real and is being treated as such. One offs are fine but some people use it now for every blimmin picture!

I suspect many people do this because SC erases fine lines and smoothens skin and enlarges the eyes! People look 20 years younger and nothing like them in their SC pictures.

MrsVietor · 30/10/2018 09:30

It's part of the increasing infantilisation of adults in society and I fucking hate it.

Fatasfook · 30/10/2018 09:33

I fuckin hate it too.

I agree, why do I want to see 7 pictures of you in various cartoon form looking far better looking than normal? You'll never be a cartoon dog so why is that your profile picture?

pumpastrotter · 30/10/2018 09:39

I don't mind filters on SC but I can't stand seeing them as people's general profile pics. I especially hate it when people post pictures of their babies with them....... (looking at my SiL who keeps posting pics of new niece with filters on, captioned 'how beautiful is my little girl'...yes, what a lovely hybrid)

madmomma · 30/10/2018 09:44

It's fucking weird.

Limensoda · 30/10/2018 09:44

So you look better as a cartoon rabbit?

Sadly, yes Grin
I agree with you though.

Twork · 30/10/2018 09:45

I thought it was just be that didn't get it.

Fatasfook · 30/10/2018 09:48

Glad I’m not alone on this one.

YANBU. I saw a meme once that said...

"If you keep using that Snapchat dog filter, your date won't know whether to take you to dinner, or for a shit in the park" Grin

Fatasfook · 30/10/2018 09:55

😂 love that worraliberty!
So it’s a dog then, I thought it was a rabbit, stupid whatever it is.

Villanelle123 · 30/10/2018 09:57

Totally agree!!

Guys use them on POF Halloween Shock

MartyMcFly1984 · 30/10/2018 09:57

I saw a young mum being interviewed on tv, and she had a photo of her newborn son beside the bed... complete with dog ears and nose. I despair

Fatasfook · 30/10/2018 10:04

I just saw a post with a mum and her small sick child in a serious “raising awareness” post. Mum had glittery ears and nose and massive bug eyes. Wtf

There was a girl on Portrait Artist of the Year who got on with a portrait of herself with the dog filter..........She was a good artist, but bloody hell!

MakeItRain · 30/10/2018 10:08

Completely agree! It's so weird. The pictures just look creepy.

SpoonBlender · 30/10/2018 10:09

This should be on the "things that irritate you that don't affect you" thread!

Fatasfook · 30/10/2018 10:11

It does affect me, it raises my rage level 😂

Frogscotch7 · 30/10/2018 10:11

Yanbu. I like seeing real photos of my friends, especially the ones who live far away. My kids play with the filters for fun but we delete the pics after. They are boring.

Houseonahill · 30/10/2018 10:12

I hate it because it's not a picture of the person it's some weird computerised image to make you "more attractive" and tbf it works but it baffles me because it's not what you look like, I know lots of less attractive people with stunning photos (with stupid ears and noses) and every time i just think but that's nothing like what you look like!

I worry it's putting too much pressure on young girls to look like the fake them which is impossible.

SaucyJack · 30/10/2018 10:12

I must confess I do find it rather concerning when there’s a missing teen or adult post on FB, and the photo supplied is heavily filtered and looks nothing like the missing person we’re all supposed to be looking out for.

Fatasfook · 30/10/2018 10:17

Good point saucy

I'm on a dating app and on some of the profiles of the men that pop up there'll be 5 pictures of them with dog ears/anime eyes/whatever else. I swipe left immediately, I don't want to date an animal thanks. 😂
