Sorry to post here but I'm after the traffic.

DC want to share a bedroom but our house is 1930s and a funny shape (chimneys and bays etc). DD1 is extremely clumsy so if we go for bunk beds they will need to be ones with stairs (£££££). If we go for ones with stairs then we will need to swap bedrooms as the only flat wall in her room is only long enough to fit the length of a bed.

To be honest, I would prefer them to have two single beds and to avoid the whole bunk bed thing, but have no clue as to how to make them fit and still give them space to play!

I've attached a picture of our floor plan. The bedroom with the bay is currently ours but happy to swap. The bed in ours is a king, with two bedside tables either side so is much longer.

So MN, would would you do?

Bugger, forgot to say there are radiators on either side of the walls with doors on!

I’d give them two rooms, one for sleeping and one for playing with a sofa bed for guests

I think I would do the same. A cosy room for sleeping and a different room for toy storage and playing.

They have a playroom downstairs. I just thought hoped they might want their stuff upstairs eventually

One bed either side of the fire place leaving room in the middle for playing and a space on the wall with the door in for storage.

Ours want to share but also have odd shaped rooms which make it difficult so they spend Sun - Thurs in their own rooms and then we put an air bed up on Fri & Sat in whichever of the rooms they decide they want to be at the weekend. They often do this mid-week during school holidays too.
