I am currently 6 weeks pregnant. Feeling very low as have had two mc this year and worried about this pregnancy.

Dh has just come home from work and we were talking about pregnancy etc. It was at this point I said I felt very bloated today and as I'm already a bit overweight I'm worried about gaining in pregnancy. I said I've been looking at ways to not gain loads in pregnancy and eat healthily etc. Dh said 'yes I've been thinking I'm going to start back at the gym on Monday' (he used to go every morning). He says his plan is to lose a pound for every pound I gain during pregnancy 😑.

I could have strangled him 😂 Aibu to think telling your pregnant (a bit sad) wife that you plan on getting thin while she just gets fatter probably isn't a good plan?!

This is lighthearted btw and I am pleased he wants to get back in shape, he isn't fat but he used to be a lot leaner and muscly so wants to get back to that for himself :-)

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Please don't get hung up on weight, be kind to your body and be healthy and rest but don't stress if you put some weight on. And YANBU add some extra lard to his meals the boasty fecker Grin

I think as long as he doesn't mention ever pound off and gloat about his progress and pops to the 24hr Tesco for you at 2 in the morning when you crave malteasers and pickled onion monster munch you let him get on with it. & of course he'll stay home with the baby when you decide to do something for yourself, supposing it's the gym, wine with friends, whatever. Congratulations OP, I had 2 mc before DS & I know you veer from cloud 9 to not wanting to even acknowledge it just in case you tempt fate.

You're pregnant, not getting fat,,you're growing a baby, don't stress about your weight...

You can also do thr gym though, gentle exercise is good for you in pregnancy.

Thanks everyone :-) especially those who said they have had mc and success, it's lovely to hear positive stories :-) hopefully we will be one of those :-) I'm currently sat in bed eating a brownie so dh better get himself down the gym in the morning 😂 after I laughed at him and told him I was going to strangle him he said he just meant that I'd be gaining weight in a good way because we would know baby is growing :-)
