to expect dh to tell me when he's having the last of anything in the cupboard?

Had a bit of a fall out with dh earlier, when he took the last ice cream out of the freezer and ate it. I asked him if it was the last one adn he said yes. I asked him if he thought it would have been nice to say it was the last one at the time to see if me or ds might want to share? I think that I usually will say 'I'm just about to have the last xxx, do you want any?' He then started being a real arse and has been over exagerating asking if he is 'allowed' to have anything. It does sound a bit petty, but it's happened before when I just get in the mood for a treat of something and go to the fridge / freezer / cupboard for said treat to find that they're all gone. AT least if you know there are none left, you don't get yourself in the mood for said treat!
I've come to the conclusion, sadly, that either I'm a bit of a control freak, or he is selfish and both of these things make me
Not really expecting replies, just wanted to get it off my chest as off to bed in a mo (I always have to do the mornings too. And we're both at work full time, so it's NOT FAIR!!)

I hid my chocolate in my pillow once so OH couldn't eat it before he went to work. Good job it wasn't summer .

Just investigated my stash. I have ten Solero widgets and a couple of cornetto thingies in. So, I'm having a Solero and am off to my bed.

I'm lucky that I love chocolate, but dh doesn't so would never eat the last one.

DH does take the last of something though and leave the empty packet in the cupboard which really annoys me.

get a small white board and put it un on the kitchen wall somewhere and tell him if he has the last of something to write it on there, if he doesnt dont buy it, (or buy it and hide it so he thinks you havent) after a while im sure he will start to write it on the list, i know it would be nice to be asked if you would like to share, but lets face it, men are thoughtless and inconsiderate so we have to make do!

(if cant put up small white board put a notepad in the drawer or something similar)

I'm obviously not alone in this, then! I asked my sister if she thought I was being unreasonable and she said yes! (So I'm very pleased to know that it's not just me that finds this hugely irritating!) Sorry for so many exclamations, I don't speak like this in RL. Honest!!!
