To use a company to claim PPI

Well not me, my husband. I know everyone says do it yourself but he had finance loans over 6 years ago for cars and no longer has the paperwork or can remember who they were with. He also works v long hours so, I suspect he'll end up not claiming otherwise. IHBU to not just do it himself? If it's not ridiculous to use a claims company (and end up paying fees), is there one anyone would recommend?

Do what l did use a compny to find your details and then proceed yourself. Claims guys found l had Barclaycard ppi l didn't even know about. Then l did it myself so kept the £4k no fees. Just fill in one of Thier forms with as many lenders you think you had

I used one because I didn't have time to do it myself.
They've found a small amount of money already.

Thank you both. Pulipatchouli - who are you using? I think he will will try and get the info and proceed himself, ideally. Just aware that time is running out...

I'm interested too

Ta1kinpeace · 27/10/2018 16:01

Why don't you do it for him?

GreenTulips · 27/10/2018 16:03

Who did you use

Annabel7 · 27/10/2018 16:10

I would do it for him but I'm also pretty busy. Plus it will be easier for him to fill out any details that he does have directly...

Can anyone recommend a ppi company?

ThePinkOcelot · 27/10/2018 21:58

Well if he’s not going to claim at all, it’s worth using a company because he wouldn’t be getting anything anyway, iyswim.

Soontobe60 · 27/10/2018 21:59

Don't be a dimwit! It's so easy to do it yourself!
Here's what you need to read with the link that goes straight to the claim form Resolver. I did it with very minimum info and got back £7K even though I didn't know I was entitled.
Honestly, it's soooo easy to DIY even with minimal details.

It's worth keeping in mind, than any company you're claiming from can apply compensation due against any arrears you may have. So if you have any arrears, or monies you didn't repay, by using a claims management company, you may end up out of pocket.
