10 Year Old at P!nk Concert

How unreasonable and irresponsible would it be to take my 10 year old to a P!nk concert?

She knows the songs (censored) and loves them and her. She is mature and responsible for her age. I have always encouraged the love of P!nk as I see her as a great female role model, a feminist, and love her myself.

She wants to come with me to a concert, I would love to take her but am concerned over the swearing and sexual references...
(She does know there is swearing, unfortunately knows many of the naughty words already but would never use them!)

AIBU to take her?

YANBU sound sounds like she’ll love it. Children can learn that we use some words in some contexts but not in others.

I went to see Pink quite a few years ago - apart from the swearing, I can't remember anything particularly non-child friendly?

MissionItsPossible · 26/10/2018 17:56

I don’t think so. I’m sure she’s seen her music videos and know the sorts of outfits she wears and the songs about sex.

I wouldn’t know though because the ONE show she cancelled on her last tour was the one I was meant to be going to and looked at the dates for her UK leg this year and she’s not coming here this year 😥🤬

MissionItsPossible · 26/10/2018 17:56

That was meant to be I don’t think so as I don’t think YABU!

As in**

ZoeZebra1 · 26/10/2018 17:57

That's what I've always taught her, that adults swear, often because they are excited or frustrated but that they shouldn't really... And that if she is old enough to watch a show or hear music where swearing is included (rare) then I will assume and hope she is old enough and intelligent enough not to repeat it, and if she does then I will have to re-evaluate.

My friend didn't take her 7 year old daughter because she thought she was too young.... Every other girl in her class went. Oops!

Definitely take her, but don't expect her to be up to much the next day. I think the show finishes quite late.

MrsVietor · 26/10/2018 17:58

I would take her. I'm not all that bothered about swearing though. I took DD to see Little Mix and she only saw what was in her 7 year old's frame of reference, everything else went over her head completely.

I thought 10 year olds were P!nk's target market?!

ZoeZebra1 · 26/10/2018 18:02

I must like music aimed at those younger then because I absolutely love her!

You think a woman that has sung songs about masturbation and has dressed up as a dominatrix in her music videos is aimed at 10 year olds? Confused
