My partners daughter was transferring her pictures to google drive from her iPhone to clear up space but then went ahead and deleted all the pictures (including recently deleted) before they had transferred (aarrrgghhh) she is now really upset as she's lost a year of photos. Anyone got any ide how we can recover them?

Did she have iCloud back up set up

whyhaveidonethis · 25/10/2018 19:07

No the iCloud was full so last back up is in February 🙄😫 that's why we were clearing it up.

Could they be in her recently deleted folder? If not I think she’s stuffed, sorry Confused

It’s only an extra 79p a month to have more space on iCloud.
Sorry but I think they are gone.

This works, even if you have cleared out the 'recently deleted' files from your iPhone (which is pretty shocking really, as your'd think they would have permanently gone at that point). www.copytrans.net/copytranscloudly/

You need to use a PC to recover the files for some reason, I'm not sure why, and you need to act reasonably quickly. Good luck with it, I know that sinking feeling all too well of thinking your photos have disappeared, but this should get them back for you - it worked for me.

I've just seen you need to recover photos going back to February. I don't know whether you'll find them going that far back using the link I just posted but you'll certainly get quite a lot of recent ones - not sure of the time / file number limit but I was pleasantly surprised at what I found. Good luck!

Thanks @SleeplessAbroad my laptop just died to compound the issue. OH has taken daughter out for a walk to calm down.

Oh poor you, what horrid timing for your laptop to die. All will be well though. Glass of wine time, maybe? I remember the photo recovery process took maybe an hour or so, so not super quick but it worked very well. My husband (who did the recovery for me), says that he's pretty sure the important thing is not when the photo was taken but when it was deleted, so you might even find all of them there. Fingers crossed!

Place marking, desperately hoping the solutions above will help me too. I lost 3 years of pics about two months ago😞
