I know I am, sorry- posting here for traffic
I am trying to buy wardrobes with full mirrored glass doors. We got this one guy to give a quotation for a fitted one and it was 3k. Sad

I’ve been looking now at IKEA ones. Are there any better deals out there? One with a sliding door, one with normal open and close doors.

Where did you get a great deal on wardrobes? We’ve seen the sliding door kits but we can’t do it ourselves and everyone seems to want to charge at least £800 to do it for us.

my sister
got one off ebay she said it was around £300 and they built it, not sure on the details though.

You want IKEA PAX. Excellent quality and some mirror options on the sliding doors.

Barbara, I’ve seen some reviews saying it is shit. Do you have that type? How do you find it?

I got ikea mirrored opening doors...they were half the price of the sliding doors. Anyway 2.5m of wardrobe with full glass doors and all the inside bits and bobs were about £650.

I've had them a week and I already hate the mirror doors....constant finger print smudges!!!

YANBU. My clothes are all in boxes. Where is this rule about hanging clothes up?

BarbaraofSevillle · 23/10/2018 07:55

Clothes Yes, we have Ikea Pax wardrobes. They're 12 years old and like new. We have a 2 metre double with sliding doors and a 50 centimetre with an opening door. They're very solid.

The only caveat with sliding doors is that you have to make sure that the wardrobe is level and square before you hang the doors, or else they won't sit/slide properly.

But don't just take my word for it, there's hundreds of threads on here and the consensus is that they're great and excellent value. Just as good if not better than similar ones that cost 2 or 3 times as much.

Skimming the Pax threads, there's also the John Lewis Mix It range which might suit.

We have an ikea Pax with sliding doors and it's fine. I think sliding doors are just a more expensive option so if you want to save money you'd be better off with normal doors.

EthelHornsby · 23/10/2018 08:09

Pax are great - mine have moved house twice, been assembled and disassembled several times, still good. Lots of options

Iltavilli · 23/10/2018 08:25

John Lewis Elstra for both sliding doors and not. Similar to Pax in terms of large capacity, but JL deliver and build for you (when you see the size of the wardrobe you’ll be grateful for that!) and come with 10 year guarantee.
Large double (1.5m) starts at about 700 for sliding, cheaper for hinged

Thanks mnetters

I've got the PAX with mirrored doors and they're great but a fucking pain in the arse to get the door on

SushiMonster · 23/10/2018 12:12

I got PAX. So good.

HelloSnow · 23/10/2018 12:16

Ikea also do assembly for a fee. I have a mirrored pax and cracked one of the mirrors trying to get into the frame, it was a nightmare. I do love the wardrobe but hated putting it together.

Howhot · 23/10/2018 12:17

I LOVE my PAX

ZigZagIntoTheBlue · 23/10/2018 12:20

We had an alcove to use and just wanted the doors - bought them from Amazon and it was much cheaper. They are really heavy though, you need help to get the stuff up the stairs! Oh and I checked one of my mirrored doors and it was cracked so I had to get that switched.
