To take my 8 week old to the Baby Show?

Might sound a silly question but I was wandering whether I should bring her along? Is it suitable for such a young and little baby to be at such a crowded place?

I don't see why not. At 8 weeks my little one would sleep anywhere and was happy when awake to be in the pram or sling. There will be plenty to look at and keep her entertained.

You will have to stop to feed her regularly but I imagine somewhere like the Baby Show should be equipped for this and have seats for breastfeeding/equipment to boil water for bottles etc. Maybe have a look on the website and see if they have details about the facilities available, so you know what to bring.

I think it would be easier to take an 8 week old to something like this, as opposed to a baby who is mobile and wants to get out of the pushchair all the time!

I would take her, baby showers are based around the baby to be so can't see why an 8 week old wouldn't be welcomed! Also, surely no one will be treating it like a piss up as the mum to be can't drink anyway!

Recently went to my sister's and we had all the kids there, was very kid friendly.

I went with a tiny baby, possibly a week or so corrected. It had lovely breastfeeding chairs, changing tables, lots of lovely baby swings and things to try. Totally welcoming to a baby.
Although I admit it was close enough for me to walk to, so was a very low stress experience. Not sure how far I would have gone if I had to travel to get there.

Yes it would be fine. If there are slings/carriers to try out you can use your actual baby.

I was there yesterday, there were quite a few teeny babies so I wouldn't worry too much.

Some of my post disappeared... it will probably reappear after I post this but added to say to try and go earlier in the day if you can, it was definitely busier in the afternoon.

I took my DD to one and wore her in a sling for a lot of it. It was noisy but it was kind of like white noise and she slept for ages.

I took my 10 week old to the Knitting show. She was in a sling and just slept and fed. It was completely fine and when I needed to BF people made lots of space for us in the food sections so all was good. I enjoyed it and so did she!

Oh I see you’ve been! Glad you enjoyed it Smile
