This whole board is trivial based stuff....omg a wedding fiasco, omg a parents in law fiasco...etc

But when a real issue comes up, it gets deleted?

yeah lets white wash the whole lot and pretend our parents in law are the biggest issue in the whole world right now

Is this a TAAT?

Bluesheep8 · 20/10/2018 17:11

What's a TAAT? Blush

BertramKibbler · 20/10/2018 17:15

A TAAT is a TAAT

gamerwidow · 20/10/2018 17:24

Yes it’s trivia and it’s better that way. If someone has a serious issue they are far far better off putting it in the relevant section where they will get proper advice and empathy rather than a good kicking which seems to be what Aibu is used mostly for.

VampireBatshittery · 20/10/2018 17:28

TAAT = thread about a thread

AiryFairyUnicornRainbow · 20/10/2018 17:33

Even I had never heard of a TAAT, so no, it is not whatever the heck one of those is

Don't know, I just come on here for a laugh.

HisBetterHalf · 20/10/2018 17:34

Seems that way, grooming threads disappeared.

Sparklingbrook · 20/10/2018 17:37

AIBU is a joke section, if you post in the specific section you will get decent advice on the whole.

People that use AIBU 'for traffic' might get loads of replies but not necessarily good ones.

Don't post 'real' issues in AIBU basically.

florenceheadache · 20/10/2018 17:39

Given that over 50% of MN posts are BS. It really is just entertainment.

SilverySurfer · 20/10/2018 17:40

TAAT = Thread About A Thread which are forbidden on here and closed down pronto.

Sparklingbrook · 20/10/2018 17:41

YY it's very entertaining to see the non events that people get all wound up by.
And to see if you can spot the endless fiction.

BasicUsername · 20/10/2018 17:44

@florenceheadache

"Given that over 50% of MN posts are BS"

Where did you find that statistic?

florenceheadache · 20/10/2018 17:47

Basic, I can’t remember where. If you add in replies I bet the amount of genuine posts is even less.

Sparklingbrook · 20/10/2018 17:49

I would have said more than 50%. Grin

Bracknellite · 20/10/2018 22:24

AIBU is mumsnet Jeremy Kyle.

mineofuselessinformation · 20/10/2018 22:36

I totally disagree.
Some people post on AIBU because they want the traffic, but they don't want the bunfight that goes with it.
Yes, maybe they chose the wrong place - but it doesn't mean they don't need support.

A580Hojas · 20/10/2018 22:41

AIBU should be re-named Petty Gripes and that would stop all the nonsense.

A580Hojas · 20/10/2018 22:48

The ridiculous thread about selling a house which is currently in AIBU right now being a case in point.

Sparklingbrook · 21/10/2018 06:22

Yes 'Petty Gripes' would be very accurate. Grin
