To hate 'Active Now', 'Active 2 Hours Ago' etc. on Facebook Messenger?!

It drives me crackers. People inbox me and I cannot be bothered to reply because I am busy, pre-occupied, relaxing etc. and don't want to play 'text tennis's. I've looked into it and I can't find any way to disable the Active reports. My phone gives me a preview of the messages so I know they aren't urgent messages, but often if you don't reply and then have a quick scroll on Facebook, people say 'oi ignorant! Wink' etc. because you didn't get straight back to them.

I don't want to delete messenger because I have contact with people on there who's numbers I don't have and also use it for DH business.

But, yano, sometimes I like a quiet scroll on Facebook with no interaction!!!

I completely agree, I often want to scroll through Facebook when going to sleep or trying to chill out but not want to get into a conversation. It’s very irritating

If you click on the round circle that is your profile picture it will bring up a list of options.

The first one is "Active Status" just slide it to off

Agree with above, if you turn your active status to off you avoid this.

Thanks for this, I feel exactly the same way... I just deactivated "active now" in messenger and Facebook. Would've been handy to be able to do them both at once though...

@Gingercatlover
That's amazing! I'm certain this wasn't possible 6 months ago when I looked into it!
