about breast clinic results?

Visited breast clinic today for what was supposed to be a 45 minute mammogram and ultrasound (lump investigation) and then a telephone consultation next Monday.

Ended up there for over three hours having three mammograms and two ultrasounds. An hour and twenty minutes after the last ultrasound, they said I could go. I asked if the long wait was significant and the nurse said no, they were just v busy.

They wouldn't now wait until Monday to tell me anything untoward, would they? Surely they would have told me there and then?

In my experience, if they ‘suspected’ anything the would have also carried out a needle biopsy today.
What can you do to distract yourself until Monday?

I went to the breast clinic was seen by consultant mammogram and ultrasound. Cyst drained and back to consultant for discussion and all clear.

Bit puzzled by your arrangement but yes i suspect your feet would not touchthe floor if they suspected anything sinister.

My DW found a lump. She had phone calls late in the evening and at weekend.
She now has one boob, a very neat scar and no cancer.
Everything was done very quickly and no time was wasted.
OP they will not leave things if they need dealt with.
They will not put things off but they act very quickly.

Thank you all - that's very reassuring. I would have distracted myself with parents' evening at my school if it hadn't taken so long! Had to phone and postpone it. Three hours is a long time, was thinking all sorts. But your replies are helping me think more rationally.

They do get very busy.
They don't give bad news by phone.

Five hours Shock Lem!

No, was thinking surely they wouldn't do that. Definitely feeling calmer about it.

any update Riquesh? I am sure we all want to know that it is all clear.

Not until telephone consultation next Monday - so that in itself tells me that results can't be too urgent. Thank you for asking, I'll let you know what happens then. Smile
