I bought one of these but the screen is damage, not just cracked. aibu to ask if it worth paying for it to be repaired or just to buy a whole new
one??

It might be worth getting in touch with amazon. I had a paperweight kindle for over a year and the screen broke and they replaced it and I sent back the old one. Worse they can say is no.

Yeh i contacted them after reading it online but they said they only do that with the kids one.

Wait till Black Friday - they often reduce them significantly (tho not always)

PurpleCrazyHorse · 17/10/2018 20:53

I would make a note of Black Friday and the cost of the repair. If you can hold on, I would see what the cost of a new one goes down to.

I got DD's Fire 8 as an Amazon approved used one for under £50 with a Prime discount. If you can wait, I'd keep an eye on prices.

Keep an eye on the Amazon Warehouse for used ones from Amazon.

My mums broke recently, screen issues, spoke to amazon who talked me through ways to fix it. They didn't work so she got money off a new one (which I now have and she had my old one hehe as I'm getting her a bigger on black Friday, always great deals)
