AIBU?
To want to watch iplayer without blinking signing in?
museumum · 17/10/2018 19:11
So iplayer on the tv now says it’s goung to start insisting we sign in to watch.
This is a serious PITA!!
I do not want to give ds my info.
Nor do we want each member of the family logging in and out of the big family room tv. Argh!!
What does everyone else do?
museumum · 17/10/2018 19:20
Mines been doing that for a while - it’s now changed to “soon you will have to sign in to watch”.
gamerwidow · 17/10/2018 19:21
You don’t use a username and password though. They give you a code on screen and you type it into your browser to activate it. Once you’ve activated a device you dont have log in again.
Upanddownandroundagain · 17/10/2018 19:23
If everyone paid their tv licence we wouldn’t have to go through this!
gamerwidow · 17/10/2018 19:24
I resisted too because I thought it was a pita but its actually really easy and now I can pick up from where I left off if I’ve paused a program on all the TVs on the house. I like it.

I use iplayer on a few different devices and I'm sometimes asked to log in again. Tbh it doesn't bother me at all, I'm happy it's avaliable, it's not much hardship.
PattiStanger · 17/10/2018 19:27
Good point gamerwidow, I'd forgotten about it knowing where you're up to.
anniehm · 17/10/2018 19:34
You set it up once, subsequently you just click one thing on the screen, you don't have to put your password etc again. Everyone in the family uses the same login so it's easy, takes 2 seconds at most each time once set up - it's good it means only those who have paid can use it!!!
Samcro · 17/10/2018 19:34
I signed up for it. Then it didn't singn me in
I just skip that part.
And watch it
museumum · 17/10/2018 19:40
If I sign as me though is it going to offer ds to pick up halfway through killing eve?
LouLouLoupee · 17/10/2018 19:47
Nah, it’s like Netflix in that you set up different profiles on one account.
No bother at all tbh
Samantha2018 · 17/10/2018 19:56
Seriously hate this ive had to reset my password a million times
buscaution · 17/10/2018 20:01
Of DS is old enough to have access to a television without supervision, he is old enough to be trusted not to watch that stuff.
user8905 · 17/10/2018 20:05
My freesat box is demanding a login but the tv's iPlayer app isn't yet. I don't want to go through the hassle of signing up as I mainly watch Netflix and Amazon these days - tempted to stop paying the licence fee.
LouLouLoupee · 17/10/2018 20:23
It is honestly the easiest sign in system I’ve ever used, and I use them all!
You need to spend a max of 5 mins on your phone while sat in front of the tv!
