AIBU?

To ask for your boric acid vaginal suppository stories?

I have had the utter hell of recurrent BV since may. I have tried everything. Everything. And nothing keeps it away. I feel my last resort is the boric acid suppositories capsules - bit nervous about using them. Any experiences to reassure me or to tell me to absolutely avoid??

Have you tried lactic acid? You can buy in boots.

Sister swears by them, after several years of spending half the time with thrush-like symptoms that weren't thrush according to repeated swabs. Go for it.

Isn’t that what vagisil is for?

Thanks so much for respondes! Used lactic acid but it doesn't work for long. Vagisil not for this, no.
Good to hear spoonblenders ds has some joy.
I don't seem to be able to buy them on UK Amazon though if anyone has any recommends I'd be so grateful!

Hm. DS bought hers from Amazon, but they've stopped doing them at all now - only lactic acid ones and pointless homeo(bleh)pathic twaddle.
She used "SeroFlora boric acid vaginal suppositories", 28 for £16 or so. Doesn't need them now, after a year or so of using them when needed she's healthy again.

Have just been diagnosed with BV and am on Metronidazole tablets for 11 days - don't the tablets work for you or are they just not effective enough.
Never had issues in the past but GP thinks it may be linked to changes due to Menopause.
Can I just ask @Sommelierrrr is there anything you could suggest I should or shouldn't be doing/trying to clear it up and stop it recurring?

Hi @salsamad it seems to reoccur very commonly- that's when the suppositories come in. I have read literally everything o can on it and looks like the boric acid suppositories are the way ahead to keep it out for good. Best of luck BV can be horrible x

I used the gel A LOT but i noticed that tampons kept bringing it back over and over. So I avoid them like the plague
