AIBU?

Royals wearing clothes more than once?

I'm neither a fan nor a hater if the royal family - they bring in revenue to our country and other stuff besides ...

Anyway, glancing through the headlines and deadlines of the online press cesspit and I'm pretty astonished they pull up Kate ... probably others .. on the fact she's 'worn that dress before' ... got two dresses of the same colour ... shock fucking horror!

  1. Glad they're gracious enough to 'recycle' a look from a designer that costs probably £££££k to buy and not freaking waste money too much

2. What about 'outing' the boys for wearing the same jeans, tops or suits ....

Well done press - keeping equality locked away behind your rag of non-news dross

Prince Harry wore a pair of shoes with a hole in the sole at Friday's wedding

Loved Prince Harry's shoes. A comfy pair of shoes is worth its weight in rubies. I dread having to change my shoes or buy new ones, makes my back ache for a week, minimum. Good luck to him.

It wasn't the same dress in a different colour. The sleeves were different. I think it's great they wear things more than once. The press clearly haven't got anything better to say.

You would think Prince Harry could afford to get his shoes resoled.

You read the wrong papers. The only comments I've seen about recycling outfits have been positive. It used to be unheard of but Diana did it occasionally too and it's generally considered to be a good thing. Although, they do occasionally get accused of not supporting the British fashion industry if they don't have a new outfit for every occasion.

kate often wears the same outfit, but changed up with different hats and coats etc, and the queen is famous for it, her dressers often will redo a outfit, to make it look different and she will wear it again, apparently shes quite thrifty and doesnt buy new things just for the heck of it and encourages recycling and reusing etc in all her homes and always has done ( i watched a documentary about it a long time ago )

I read that it's protocol for royals to rewear an outfit at someone else's wedding so there isn't so much attention on them.

I think it would be great if they all rewore things as much as the rest of us do. A new dress now and again for a wedding or a special occasion, maybe higher-end than most of us could afford, but the rest of the time, it would be good for their reputation and probably quite inspiring for the sort of people who are very influenced by what royals and celebrities do.

You would think Prince Harry could afford to get his shoes resoled.

Maybe he was making a point that he couldn't be arsed to, after what his smug uncle said about him.

It takes ages if they have been made for you or if they are good shoes that go back to the maker though, you have to wait weeks- maybe he didn't have long enough between weddings?

I have it on good authority that Prince Edward wears his pants for at least four days in a row before putting on clean ones.

Whereas Charles puts on a brand new pair every 3 hours, as befits the heir to the throne

Ooh what did his smug uncle say??

He kept saying how it would be different from the 'other' wedding and how Eugenie and Jack had more guests as they are popular and have more friends.

Princess Anne's been wearing that cottage loaf hairstyle for about 40 years now.

I'm anti monarchy, but Charlie Windsor is one of the few people who can pull off a double breasted suit.

No they don’t, it’s a myth that tourists come because of them. Even the tourist board says the royal palaces aren’t in the most visited places.

Princess Anne would benefit from a new hairstyle.
