To think that this woman should be charged?

Anyone seen in tje news about thar awful woman called theresa Klein ? If you Google there are vidis and articles. Basically she was in a shop and a 9 year old boy passed by her and she accused him of sexually assaulting her. It's heart breaking hearing the little boy crying as he is clearly scared. Thankfully there was shop surveillance footage which shows she is a crazy racist pos. However she pretended to be a cop in order to intimidate the little boy and his mum, made a serious false allegation, called the police, wasted their time and that's not to even mention the harm she has done to the poor wee boy. Also the race implications in this are imo serious. (She is a white grown ass woman making sexual allegations against a black 9 year old child). Aibu to think that she ought to be charged with something and given a prison sentence rather than 15 mins of fame which is what she seems to be getting.

She , apparantly, has some mental health issues.

I am not sure being locked up in prison is the way to help her. However, mental health problems or not, she can't be allowed to carry on doing things like this. She needs help and she needs supervising in public while she receives help.

I don't feel prison is right but not do I feel she should just be able to carry on doing things like this, either

SuchAToDo · 14/10/2018 10:00

I think what she did was awful, but won't posting about it on a public internet forum affect any legal case against her for what she has done?

Randomusername01 · 14/10/2018 10:05

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6271685/amp/White-woman-called-cops-black-boy-9-accusing-grabbing-apologizes.html link to story. Having read that her neighbours have stated that she has made several racist slurs before I'm not buying the mental health excuse. She is just a nasty racist woman who thankfully has been proven to be a nasty racist woman.

Not that I want to be dismissing mental health issues but I know plenty of people with mental health issues including myself who still manage to get on in life without being racist dicks.

SuchAToDo but you have done just that!

OP people can be racists and twats and also have mental health problems.

Randomusername01 · 14/10/2018 10:08

@duchess, which part are you having difficulty understanding?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 14/10/2018 10:10

A quick google provides a lot of weirdly black/white humour as well as disbelief about the whole issue.

A very local issue... hardly worth calling for action on this side of the pond, let alone the next bodega/borough.

But thanks, it was the first time I had seen 'Becky' as a racist insult!

It's not a British case, which is why most Mumsnetters haven't heard of it.

Randomusername01 · 14/10/2018 10:10

Notaclue I realise that but I don't agree with the implication that her racism is somehow negated by her alleged mental health issues.

OP posts:
Randomusername01 · 14/10/2018 10:12

Umm where have I asked for action on this side of the pond. Or are we not allowed to comment on things that don't happen in Britain?

OP posts:
DayManChampionOfTheSun · 14/10/2018 10:12

Can someone explain why they have called her 'Cornerstone Caroline'

Notacluewhatthisis · 14/10/2018 10:13

I never said it negated it.

I said it should be handled differently. Throwing her in a prison, especially a us prison will just end up with her com I g out and doing the same, if not getting worse. They can't lock her up forever, so it's best to at least try and help her mental health issues and see if that improves things.

Simply throwing he in a cell and the releasing in 15 months or whatever, just bumps the problem 15 months away.

Cactuar · 14/10/2018 10:17

I saw this last night OP. I had to stop watching the video as I found it too upsetting to watch that little boy crying - he was so scared bless him Sad

I definitely think she should face charges for at least wasting police time - what she did was evil IMO. OK she might have felt something touch her ass but as soon as she turned round and saw that it was a small child with a large backpack who had just passed her can't believe her mind would have automatically gone to sexual assault rather than realising she had been accidentally brushed against (which is what happened)!

Randomusername01 · 14/10/2018 10:18

So you are suggesting that by dealing with her mental health she is less likely to make racist allegations? I disagree. She needs help with her mental health but that's a separate issue from her racist accusations. Otherwise you'd have every racist crying mental health issue every time they were held accountable for their actions.

OP posts:
Randomusername01 · 14/10/2018 10:19

@cactuar that's how I felt when I watched it. The little boy crying for his mum broke my heart.

So you are suggesting that by dealing with her mental health she is less likely to make racist allegations?

No, I didn't say that. As I said in my first post, I disagree that prison is the eight place. But don't think she should be allowed to carry on.

If her mental health issues are dealt with and she becomes well, she is unlikely to partake in this behaviour.

She might still be racist. But people aren't locked up for having racist thoughts. They are locked up for expressing those views or causing harm because of those views.

Explain how prison will stop this happening, again, when she gets out?

In my opinion, best she isn't allowed to be out unsupervised while she receives help. That may mean sectioning her . But I don't agree prison is the best place. In fact I think its likely to make it worse.

longwayoff · 14/10/2018 10:25

Dont know anything about this, poor child, horrible for him but from your description she is obviously unwell. She should be charged. She should receive treatment. Mental ill health is not like measles, easily identifiable with matching symptoms, all kinds of variations in thought can appear.

Cactuar · 14/10/2018 10:28

Tbh I think calling the police on and accusing a small child of sexual assault is causing harm.

ButchyRestingFace · 14/10/2018 10:35

That was sad to watch, those kids were really upset. Sad. Thank God for CCTV and phones with recording capability.

The woman screaming "paedophile" didn't really help matters.

Randomusername01 · 14/10/2018 10:39

@cactuar 100% agree with you. @Butchy I think the woman screaming that was the mother? Maybe not. But if it was I think under the circumstances it was probably justified.

OP posts:
ButchyRestingFace · 14/10/2018 10:44

*@Butchy I think the woman screaming that was the mother? *

That wasn't my impression but hard to say from the footage. Glad they've got it though. The Klein woman sure did seem to like being filmed from the poses she was striking. Hmm

They really need to start charging people for this shit. Black people are being shot and killed when police do attend "incidents" - unless you live under a rock, the people calling the cops for this sort of stuff can't be unaware of this.

FeralKoala · 14/10/2018 10:55

The woman sounds like a massive piece of shit, thank god for CCTV.

Fifty years ago that little boy could have ended up dead in a ditch somewhere and be "missing" for decades because of bullshit like this.

Randomusername01 · 14/10/2018 11:12

@feral, absolutely agree and believe this is why it has hit a raw nerve with many black Americans, especially those who are older who would have witnessed such callous behaviour. Its just disgusting any which way you cut it. I think prison would be an ideal place for her.

OP posts:
BabySharkAteMyHamster · 14/10/2018 11:15

Mentally ill people arent racist.

Racists are just racist. She should be treated the same as any other dumb racist. Theyre an embarrasment and have no place in our society. 🤷‍♀️
